Day 230 - Wish you were here

Mum to be putting in another appearance .

We went to visit our friends S__ and P___ and their lovely new baby, G___ at the weekend. Avid readers may recall that baby G___ was a bouncing 9lbs 8 and caused his poor Mother quite a few good hours of difficult pushing to get him out into the world. He is very cute indeed and was very well behaved while we were there - a shining example of new babyhood. Having said that he did, apparently, drop something of a 'poo bomb' after we left but as his poor Mummy pointed out he must like us as he didn't do it while we were there!!!

Most visitors probably just want to coo over the baby and don't really want to go into gory details of the labour and delivery but we were happy to chat about birth stools etc. This was their third baby born at home so it is always good to hear someone else's experiences before we go down that route ourselves.

S__ was also showing off by getting off the sofa with the greatest of ease, bending down to pick stuff off the floor, all accompanied by a gleefull 'look, you get your body back'. I've just changed the sheets on our bed and it took a good 10 minutes just to get one set off and into the washing machine and then I was so tired that I could have done with a nap...only I'd taken all the sheets off the bed - doh! I am looking forward to getting my body back, although I am sure that getting my figure back will be a very much longer struggle.

Anyway, I digress, G___ is a lovely baby and holding him made me realise (as if you didn't all already know) how excited I am to meet our own bundle of joy (and poo). 6 and a half weeks till D days and counting!
