Recently some friends came up to visit for the day on their way home from a holiday up north to their home down south - the bonus of us living in the Midlands (Hello Family E!).
We had planned to go to a kids theme park about 15 miles away but due travel chaos with the road there being closed and a ropey weather forecast we decided to invite them to spend the day at our favourite National Trust property with great adventure playground. The idea was that at least we could get there and if the weather was rubbish we were close enough to just take them back to our house.
In the end the weather was fine, my Mum, sister and her kids came along, and we all had a great time. Well, all of us apart from little G, who is just slightly older than Olivia, and who unfortunately ran in to a table very early in the proceedings and gave himself a ferocious black eye. Hope he felt better soon!
My girls like nothing better than a playground and a picnic (cheap dates :) so they were in heaven.
Here is the rowdy rabble.
It was a great day out! Hopefully i told the G-man the truth that chicks dig scars, because he now has a little line on his cheek from the picnic table, to go along with the Harry Potter/Mark of Zorro from the park railings, and the piratey eyebrow scar from the mini-golf range on southport marina! Oh well.....!
