This blog started out as a bloke's view of pregnancy with daily entries from the date the pregnancy was confirmed. As time went on, my wife started to write entries too on all things to do with babies. In January 2007, our first child Olivia entered the world, and in October 2008 Grace arrived, but the blog shows no signs of stopping... Come and read our naïve and wrong opinions...

Photograph a Feeling
Here's the first family M_______ portrait, taken on the Monday morning, just after Grace's birth. Credit for the photograph goes to K___'s mother.

I should also mention how brilliant Olivia has been. For months, we'd been showing her mummy's tummy and trying to explain there was a baby in there and that it would be her sister. Now that the baby's out, she's taken to pointing to her own tummy and saying, 'Baby!', but nevertheless, I think something must have sunk in. When K___'s mum brought her over, she walked into the room, saw Grace and then her eyes opened so wide they were in danger of rolling out. 'A baby!' she declared.
She's been fabulous, with no major signs of jealousy, and she loves to kiss her sister's head. She's been waking up very early, but that's got to be at least partly to do with the coinciding end of British Summer Time and the extra hour of sleep that she's supposed to have. You try explaining it to a toddler! Additionally, she's not used to having me around for days on end. Hopefully things will be a little more relaxed when I go back to work next week and she gets back into her normal routine.
