Today my NCT chums and I had a very civilized afternoon. We took advantage of the continuing good weather and took the babies to the beach. Although it started a bit cloudy, it soon burned off and left a clear blue sky. It was a bit windy (or 'bracing' as I prefer to think of the English seaside) but once we found some shade we were able to enjoy the sun without the cold breeze. We lined up the babies in the shade and sat in the sun having a nice lunch and drinking wine. I then went back to my friend E_'s house and we sat on her deck overlooking the sea and continued to chat in the sun.
They say that for every action there is a equal and opposite reaction and this was well demonstrated as I am now paying for my decadence as Olivia spent about 2 solid hours this evening screaming for no apparent reason. There may have been a reason but for the life of us we just couldn't work it out. Anyway she is finally off to sleep now, much to the enormous relief of Mummy and Daddy, who are somewhat frazzled.
