In fact, although the class was still running when I turned up at the Sally Army place, I couldn't see into the class, so I didn't see any rump-shaking at all. Naturally I asked K___ whether it was much like the video for Eric Prydz's Call On Me. She said it was, but the stomachs were a bit bigger and the pants were less G-string-esqe. A lot less.
Worries about K___'s knees not being up to the job proved largely unfounded. There was one exercise which she couldn't do, but the rest were fine. One slightly curious statistic came out. Of the twenty five pregnant women in the class, only three had seen their babies in the breach position on scans. K___ was one of them. However, the woman running the class didn't seem overly bothered. She said that if the baby was still breech at thirty weeks, then that might be something to look out for. K___ mentioned how when the baby kicks her, it's always low down, suggesting the head is high, feet are low. However, we know her placenta is near the cervix. She also commented that her bump was quite low down compared to some of the other women there. To me, that just sounds inevitable given where the placenta is attached. I'm sure that when we've seen scans the baby has been lying across the abdomen - I'm assuming that the scans we've seen are taken across the belly here. I don't know. In any case, it really isn't a problem right now. 96% of babies turn to face the right way before birth.
Going back to the Yoga, K___ enjoyed it. There wasn't much chance to talk to the other women there, but I expect they'll get to know each other better over the weeks ahead. She says she'd wished she'd known what the 'blocks' were that she'd seen on sale with the yoga mats. Apparently they're for supporting knees and whathaveyou when twisting yourself about. Next time she's going to take a pillow with her for the relaxation bit they do at the end.
Now, if only they can get her so relaxed I can put her in the car, take her home and put her into bed and get her to stay asleep all night...
