Day 236 - The Appliance of Science

Mum to Be again...

My friend has told me about something cool which we might well end up doing...

The Babylab is a research unit at the Centre for Brain and Cognitive Development at Birkbeck, University of London, which looks at the ways that babies learn, recognise faces, develop language etc. They are interested in babies from birth upwards and you go along and do simple tests involving observation etc. and you stay with with your child the whole time. They pay your travel expenses if you come on public transport.

My friend has done think with both of her children (now 4 and almost a year) and both she and the babies had fun.

It is a long standing joke (I say joke, but strangely only one of us finds it funny :) in our household that my husband is such a genius he was doing rocket science, nuclear physics etc. by the time he was a few weeks old, but just think, his daughter could actually be making a contribution to science from her moses basket!
